The purpose of this post is to describe how to install Pinokio on a Debian distribution (like Ubuntu).

Prerequisites.
- A Debian-based Linux distro (I use Ubuntu).
Updating my Base System.
- From the (base) terminal, I update my (base) system:
sudo apt clean && \
sudo apt update && \
sudo apt dist-upgrade -y && \
sudo apt --fix-broken install && \
sudo apt autoclean && \
sudo apt autoremove -y
NOTE: The Ollama LLM manager is already installed on my (base) system.
What is Pinokio?
Pinokio is a browser that lets you install, and run, application. I can run chatbots, image generators, and music AI on my PC at the click of a button.
Downloading Pinokio.
- I visit the download page:
https://github.com/pinokiocomputer/pinokio/releases/tag/3.0.26
NOTE: In this example, I am referencing Pinokio v3.0.26.
At the bottom of the page, I download the Debian package for AMD64 processors.
From the terminal, I install Pinokio:
sudo apt install -y ~/Downloads/Pinokio*
- I run Pinokio from the Apps drawer.
The Results.
